Hello, I’m Sarah – an Art Psychotherapist based in Musselburgh, East Lothian.
I’m a registered member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), with experience supporting children, young people, and adults across a wide range of therapeutic settings.
Art therapy has played an important role in my own life. Creative expression helped me navigate periods of depression, grief, and the communication challenges I experienced as a neurodivergent person. These experiences continue to shape my compassionate and person-centred approach to therapy today. I have a particular passion for working with children and young people on the autism spectrum, supporting them to express themselves, understand their emotions, and build meaningful relationships.
In my private practice, I offer a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can explore difficult emotions, reduce feelings of isolation, build self-trust, and reconnect with a sense of hope and understanding. I work with individuals facing many different challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, PTSD, gender identity concerns, addiction, attachment difficulties, and the emotional impact of dementia or Alzheimer’s.
At the heart of my practice is a belief in the healing power of creativity and the importance of being truly seen and heard. Together, we’ll create a safe, supportive framework that’s tailored to your unique needs and goals.
“I find it helpful. It relaxes you because you have someone to talk to who doesn’t know you, so they’re not judgemental.”
– E, 15
